Interoperability
As the first pan-European CCP clearing provider, EMCF is a firm proponent of interoperability and has been involved in building new links from a very early stage. Through adequate implementation, interoperability will drive further competition and allow market participants to consolidate currently fragmented volumes into a single clearing provider. We believe that the success of interoperability will depend on the following elements:
- A level playing field for all
- Full reciprocity between CCP providers
- Robust risk management systems
We continue to engage with other CCPs and regulators across Europe to agree on a common model and framework for change, including system specifications. For more information about EMCF's position on interoperability, please do not hesitate to contact us.
